Quiet Rumors
“QUIET RUMORS” is a class being offered through the New Orleans Free School Network during the Summer 2011 semester, presented by Ladies Night. We chose this zine because it is a great introduction to and overview of anarchist-feminist theory, ranging from historical figures like Emma Goldman to anarchists of the second- and third-waves. (Yeah, I said it.) Edited by the Dark Star Collective, originally published in 1984 by Rebel Press, and then again as an expanded edition in 2002 by AK Press, we will be reading a hybrid of both editions over twelve weeks, copies of which will be provided. Links to individual articles follow the class schedule below.
Participation costs nothing but your time and is limited only to those folks who feel like ladies. While we highly encourage everyone to attend as many discussion sessions as they can, the readings aren’t necessarily dependent on one another. If you’ve missed a class but, would like to drop in, please do! Holler any of your questions or concerns at ladiesnight@noboyfriends.org. See you on Sunday!
