Contemporary Radical Feminisms

Through the late Spring and Summer, Ladies Night made its way through Quiet Rumors.  Printed in the 1980′s, it is a fantastic collection of Feminist histories and early Radical Feminist theory.  For the New Orleans Free School Network’s September 2011 semester, we’ll be focusing on more recent writings and ideas.  With your help, we’ll be compiling a Contemporary Radical Feminist reader from y’alls contributions of prose, poetry, theory, fiction, and just-about-anything written since 1980.  We’ll be collecting these submissions during our first two sessions (9/25 and 10/2) and passing out our compilation on 10/9.

Bring us one or two Radical Feminist readings (poetry, prose, non/fiction, or theory) written since 1980, via email or in person at Ladies Night.  In- or out-of-town, if you’d still like to submit and/or receive a copy of the reader and can’t make it on Sundays, just shoot us an email with your request.  Last call for submissions is 10/2.

UPDATE:  What with all this Occupy hoopla, we were a little distracted and had to postpone the series for a few weeks.  However, the readers have been printed and distributed and we have begun our way through them.  We choose each week’s selection at the previous Ladies Night.  For more info, to get a reader, directions to our location, or to get onto our listserve, please email us at ladiesnight@noboyfriends.org.

We got everything we could outta Contemporary Radical Feminisms and have moved on!  Please check out the Ladies Night page for a look-see of our current operations.  If you’d like a copy of our reader, email us at ladiesnight@noboyfriends.org and keep an eye out for the PDF soon.

I volunteer at the Longhaul infoshop zine library in Berkeley, CA and I was wondering if you’d be interested in sending a copy of this feminist reader to us whenever it’s been compiled.
